Rocket League Challenge Season 3 - Week 3 Recap

Week 3 Recap

Week 3 is over, and we have just one left before we find who enteres the Gauntlet Finals, and in what placement. We saw some team turnarounds, with Billy Fan Club exiting their slump, and putting themselves back into a commanding position to qualify. Scylla Esports had a rough week, and JAM Gaming have once again placed themselves at the top of the ladder by managing to take down the quick rise of Pale Horse.

Match 1: Billy Fan Club vs Scylla Esports

Both of these teams begin the day at only 1 win, which means both need to gain a win and put themselves into position to qualify. With a slump from Billy Fan Club, and Scylla Esports bringing back Dumbo after a long vacation, it seems that we were going to see a re-match of the close qualifying match for RLCS Last season. It seems, however, that billy Fan Club are no longer slumping as they took a commanding lead and took out the series, putting them in a comfortable spot to make the finals, but are still a long way from qualifying as the important 1st seed.

Match 2: Pale Horse eSports vs Scylla Esports

Pale Horse eSports seem to have come out of nowhere, qualifying through the open qualifiers, there was a big question of whether they could compete with the professional teams returning from last season. They proved themselves in the last two weeks having gone 2 - 0, and want to continue that. Meanwhile, Scylla Esports must win, a loss almost knocks them out completely putting them on 1 - 3. Once again though Pale Horse prove that they are worth the top, win the series, and put themselves on top of the ladder.

Match 3: Pale Horse eSports vs JAM Gaming

The series of the day, the battle for first place. JAM Gaming have been looking dominant, they've been on top of the Oceanic region for multiple weeks at this point, and all eyes are on them to keep up the performance against the up and coming underdogs. JAM Gaming split the Pale Horse Defense, which seemed not up to the task of JAM Gaming's attack, and secured 1st place using the tiebreaker going into week 4.

Match 4: Legacy eSports vs The Other Team

For our final match of the day, we hav another case of winner goes through, loser goes home. Both teams started the day 1 - 2, with a rough start to the tournament. That being said, The Other Team had managed to sweep JAM Gaming the week before, and had some really impressive results throughout the rest of the week. It wasn't long before we saw ellusive come through once again to slam the series home 3 - 0, not only putting them in the driver's seat to make the Finals, but also proving that they truly are a top team from the region.
