With the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) fast approaching, it's time for OCE to get prepared to face the challenge of international competition. The OCE Open Series provides Pro and Semi-Pro teams a chance to compete and practice in a short form competition. There will be a $15,000 prize pool, shared amongst all 8 teams who qualify for the season.
Teams will first enter the Open Qualifier stage, which consists of a single Double Elimination bracket with all matches being Best of 5. Teams will have to chances before they're knocked out of the qualifier. The top two teams from the upper and lower brackets will automatically qualify for League Play.
The two losers from the Lower Bracket Quater-Final will play a match to determine the fifth and final placement into League Play.
Following a round robin format all eight teams will play each other once in a Series of 3 match. Points are awarded based on match results with the top six teams qualifying for the Finals.
After successfully qualifying through League Play teams are placed in a Gauntlet Bracket based on their placement in League Play.
In a gauntlet Bracket the fifth and sixth teams will play a Best of 5 match with the winner progressing to a Best of 5 match with the fourth place team. The winner of all matches will progress to play the next highest seed team until they meet the first seed in the Grand Final.
The Grand Final is a Best of 7 match with the winner claiming the title of OCE Open Series Champion.
Teams will be awarded a share of the Tournament prize pool based on final placement at the conclusion of this bracket
